Terekeka County, Central Equatoria State – Community Aid for Humanitarian Organization (CAHO) on Tuesday commenced the implementation of its Livelihood Inclusion Program through the distribution of business-sustaining items and livestock to beneficiary groups in Terekeka County.

The two-day distribution exercise began in Lwoki Boma, Nyori Payam, where a beneficiary group received one baking oven, one fish-drying oven, two goats, and chickens to support their income-generating activities.

The team later proceeded to Reggo Payam, where another beneficiary group received a baking oven, goats, and chickens as part of efforts to strengthen household livelihoods and economic resilience.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ms. Flora Keji, Chairperson of the Nyori beneficiary group, expressed gratitude to CAHO for supporting the community with livelihood assets.

"We are very grateful to CAHO for providing us with these items. They will help us start and strengthen our businesses so that we can earn income to support our families. The money we generate will be used to pay school fees, buy scholastic materials, and provide food for our children," said Keji.

In Reggo Payam, beneficiary group member Ms. Cecilia Kiden commended CAHO for supporting children with disabilities and their caregivers through livelihood assistance.

"Many parents of children with disabilities face challenges in meeting their daily needs. These items will help us generate income and better support our children. We thank CAHO for standing with us and giving us hope," Kiden said.

She also appealed for broader support to reach more vulnerable children in the community.

"While children with disabilities need special attention, many other children in our communities are also facing hardships. We encourage CAHO and other partners to extend similar support to benefit all vulnerable children," she added.

Speaking on behalf of the organization, CAHO Livelihood Inclusion Officer Mr. Taban James said the organization remains committed to reaching the most vulnerable communities across South Sudan.

"As a national organization, CAHO is dedicated to ensuring that support reaches those who need it most. Through this Livelihood Inclusion Program, we are empowering families with resources that can help them build sustainable sources of income and improve the wellbeing of their children," said James.

He noted that the initiative is part of CAHO's broader commitment to promoting inclusive livelihoods, social inclusion, and community empowerment.

The distribution exercise is expected to enhance household income, strengthen community resilience, and contribute to improved living conditions for vulnerable families in Terekeka County.
